Fees reflect the nature of the assignment, the level of responsibility involved and the operating environment. The aim is to provide experienced senior support at a proportionate cost, with clear expectations agreed before work begins.
These figures provide a transparent guide. Final fees are agreed according to scope, duration, location and complexity. Longer assignments and clearly defined deliverables can be priced separately.
Not every assignment requires the same level of input. Remote research and drafting should not be priced in the same way as a field assessment, executive workshop or high-responsibility crisis assignment.
For focused analytical and document-based work that can be delivered remotely.
The normal range for most consultancy assignments and senior advisory support.
For assignments requiring structured assessment, facilitation, stakeholder engagement or formal findings and recommendations.
Reserved for assignments involving significant responsibility, complexity, urgency or senior-level organisational exposure.
The daily rate is only one part of the discussion. The objective is to agree a fee structure that makes sense for the assignment rather than simply multiplying every working day by the same figure.
Reduced or blended rates may be agreed for substantial blocks of work or ongoing support.
Travel time is normally charged at a reduced rate, typically CHF 500–700 per day.
Where appropriate, a reduced rate may be agreed for selected humanitarian partners or assignments with genuine budget constraints.
Travel, accommodation, visas and other agreed direct assignment costs are normally billed separately at cost.
Where scope and deliverables are clearly defined, a project fee can be agreed instead of a daily rate.
Support can be arranged as a short intervention, a defined project, periodic senior advisory support, or a combination of remote preparation and on-site delivery.
For most consultancy and advisory assignments, the working range is CHF 900–1,000 per day.
The higher CHF 1,100–1,200 range is intended for work where the responsibility, complexity or operating conditions justify it, rather than as a default consultancy rate.
